To find the contact information for your advisor, you can search here by name. You may also call the department secretary in your declared field of study. If you can not find your advisor through these avenues, please call the Center for Career and Academic Planning at (757) 594-8763 or the Office of the Registrar at (757) 594-7155 for assistance.
How do I change Advisors?
Once you have been assigned a faculty advisor in your field of study, you must contact your academic department to request a new advisor. You will need to fill out the "Department Advisor Change" form. The department secretary will be able to assist you with this process. Once the form is complete, it may be faxed, mailed, or dropped by the Office of the Registrar. Once received, the information will be processed as indicated on the form.
Students changing majors will also be assigned a new advisor in their new major. Once the "Declaration/Change of Major" form has been processed at the Office of the Registrar, our center will update your advising information to include a new advisor within your new department. Once these changes have been made, you will be notified through your CNU email account. |
